HI everyone,

Sorry its been so long since I have been in touch with you all. Its been a busy few months at Island Home and in the Barnes family as well - so I thought I would take a moment on what is a rather cold and wet afternoon, to write to say hi and give you an update on what has been going on with us all!

September we finally got to celebrate two big birthdays in the Barnes family - my 50th which had been postponed from July, and my son Jack’s 21st. It was the first time we had been able to see many of our friends and family since lockdown restrictions had eased, which was just lovely. Sad though that my parents and brother were unable to make it over from Australia for the event - but as they were still in lockdown at the time, we have decided that next year when they are able to be here, we now have a really good excuse to celebrate again !

October came around and this time it was my eldest daughter Georgia’s 18th birthday (can I just say that when we had the kids we didn’t really think about how all these big birthdays would all fall within a few months… way in the future in 2021!) . She had a brilliantly themed Halloween 18th with all her friends ( the house survived - only just !) and a good time was had by all.

November was incredibly busy for Island Home, our biggest month yet - so thank you to all our customers both new and old who have supported our little shop with their custom. I love speaking to you all and if I can ever be of any assistance with choosing furniture, foliage for our large stoneware vases or any other item you are interested in - please leave me your phone number via our contact page - I am here to help and love doing it !

So here we are at Christmas… and like a lot of you guys I am busy sorting out Christmas gifts for family and friends - working out what I need food-wise for Christmas day and if I have enough matching plates for the table ! Sometimes the lists seem endless, but as they say it will all be worth it on the day! Should you be looking for any last minute Christmas gifts - we have some great stocking fillers, like our Kiama Stone Artichoke, and our Bali Trinket Box which are sure to delight those decerning home decorators in the family.
