Hi Everyone, 

I am told that it is freezing over in England at the moment, with lots of snow, ice rain and sub-zero temperatures... Although I am not averse to a dusting of the white stuff, I have to admit I am rather relieved to be sitting in the summer sunshine in Sydney at the moment, and thought you guys might enjoy this picture I took the other day at sunrise on Bondi beach where we have been staying with family. 

Bondi is pretty hectic at this time of the year, by 11am it is wall-to-wall families shading under sun cabanas, surfers, and sun worshippers. So to come down at dawn is to see Bondi at its summer quietest... newly swept white sand, early golden sunrays and the odd beach walker and surfer. By 6 am the runners are out in force and the quiet tranquillity is broken for another day ... Bondi is waking up and the cafes roll open their shutters. I'm glad though for that quiet half an hour at dawn... I'm so glad I didn't roll over at the 5.15 am alarm and miss it, and I'm glad I got there so that I could share this photo with you all.
